Note that all of the lupe features are available here too, i.e. you can use the scribble pad and character animations.
This is certainly not guaranteed to correctly find actual word boundaries (e.g. the second sentence in the example is treated as one "word"). In practice however, this approach is still a quite useful compromise, in so far as it helps to find the beginnings of Kanji sequences. When looking up with "words open to the right", the search term tukatteimasu would not be found in the above example, but jisho, benri, and mainichi would.
